This Privacy Policy describes how WAE Tech Inc d/b/a Competition Ready ("Competition Ready," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information when competition directors, studio staff, dancers' parents/guardians, and judges ("you") use our website and platform (the "Service").

Information We Collect

Depending on your role, we may collect:

  • Account information — name, email address, and mobile phone number, used for login, identity verification, and account security.
  • Studio and dancer information — studio contact details, dancer names, dates of birth, and routine/entry data submitted during competition registration.
  • Competition information — divisions, pricing, schedules, and related configuration entered by competition directors.
  • Payment information — processed by our third-party payment provider; Competition Ready does not store full payment card numbers.
  • Usage data — basic technical information (such as browser type and pages visited) used to keep the Service reliable and secure.

How We Use Your Mobile Phone Number and SMS Messaging Consent

Competition Ready is a d/b/a of WAE Tech Inc. We collect mobile phone numbers from users who choose to receive SMS messages for multi-factor authentication, identity verification, and optional account notifications.

SMS messages are limited to:

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and one-time passcodes (OTPs) for login and security verification.
  • Identity verification codes for electronic signatures and waivers.
  • Optional account notifications, including registration updates, schedule updates, balance-due reminders, and studio-activity notices for competition directors.

SMS messaging consent is obtained through the Competition Ready platform when users affirmatively select an SMS messaging option or request an applicable verification service.

Message frequency varies based on user activity, account security events, and notification preferences. One-time verification messages are generally sent when requested. Message and data rates may apply.

Users may reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging or HELP for assistance. Users may also contact hello@competitionready.dance for support.

Mobile Information and Consent Privacy

We do not sell, rent, share, or provide your mobile phone number or SMS messaging consent information to third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

All categories of information sharing described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

We use service providers, including SMS delivery providers, only as necessary to operate our messaging services. These providers are not authorized to use your information for their own marketing or promotional activities.

SMS consent is specific to Competition Ready and is not transferred to unrelated businesses or marketing programs.

How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Service providers — we use trusted infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, and SMS delivery vendors) solely to deliver the Service on our behalf. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for their own marketing purposes.
  • Your competition director or studio — information you submit during registration is shared with the relevant competition director or studio as needed to process your registration, exactly as you'd expect. Your mobile phone number and SMS consent information are not shared for marketing or promotional purposes.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

Data Security

We protect accounts with multi-factor authentication (SMS, authenticator app, or passkey), encrypted storage of sensitive secrets, and role-based access controls so that only authorized users can view or change data relevant to their role. Passwords are stored using one-way cryptographic hashing and are never emailed or displayed in plain text.

Data Retention

We retain account and registration information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your Choices

  • You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by updating your notification preferences in your account.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.

Children's Information

Competition Ready is used by competition directors, studio staff, and parents/guardians to register and manage dancer information, including for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children; dancer records are entered and managed by an adult studio representative or parent/guardian.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes.
